Direction over current results

This is a great read for anyone who is currently frustrated with where they are in life 💫

We know that achieving a goal feels great, we have a sense of satisfaction, victory and a reason to celebrate. Ultimately, that’s often why we do what we do.

Being able to wear our favourite jeans again, successful launch our first business or finally receiving our diploma is a fantastic feeling.

However, the direction of our journey is much more important than the current results.

Why? ⁉️

1. Achieving the goal may take longer than we expect⏳

That’s when it’s more important that we set out on the journey and how we walk it than how quickly we see results. Eating healthy is more important in the long run than how much weight we lose in one month. If we focus only on the result, we can give up without really giving a new positive a chance.

2. As I keep saying, it’s not about reaching your goal, it’s about what you learn along the way 👩‍💻

Learning how marketing works when you start a business, how your body works while you are getting in a shape, how to survive on your own in a foreign country. In the end of the day, once we’re old and reminiscing on our lives, we will be thinking about the moments spent on the journey, rather than about those few seconds of victory at the finish line.

3. RESULTS OR CURRENT STATUS IS SOMETIMES MISLEADING 🎭

Sometimes things just go well, but it doesn’t mean you are growing or heading the right direction.

We can be in lucky circumstances, or be enjoying fruits of our previous work for way too long.

So don’t be fooled by the fact that things are going well.

Conversely, don’t be discouraged by the fact that the results are a bit delayed.

What you do today and whether you are going in the right direction is much more important than your current results. Therefore, if you feel frustrated by the way your life currently looks, ask yourself a simple question – “Am I going in the right direction?”

If so, great. If not, you need to ask yourself another one. “What do I need to change to get onto the right path?”

Sometimes it is not completely clear and you have to be patient. If the answer doesn’t come up and you feel like giving up after a few minutes, coaching would be just right for you. Talking to someone who listen will allow you to think about the most important questions of your life. ✨

If you would like to read more on this topic, I highly recommend book written by James Clear, Atomic Habits.
